Location: Tobacco Root Mountains, MT at the Bell Lake Yurt

Cost: $850.00

What: An all-inclusive, girls-only three-day introduction to ski touring technique and avalanche awareness at Montana’s premier backcountry destination. The camp will include professional instruction and coaching on backcountry fundamentals including

  • Ski touring basics, including gear usage, uphill techniques, pacing, layering, and route selection
  • Avalanche awareness including terrain management and basic companion rescue strategies
  • Yurt living! With a warm, cozy basecamp and delicious homestyle menu, Bell Lake Yurt provides a comfortable
    learning environment deep in the Montana backcountry
  • Fun with the girls in a safe, fulfilling environment, where confindent decision-making and teamwork are encouraged

Who this camp is for:

  • Girls who are interested in learning avalanche and backcountry saftey
  • Girls who can ski a black diamond off piste and/or can ski all mountain terrian
  • Girls who feel comfortable being outside hiking and have at least average fitness (we will be skinning at least 3 miles and climbing 2,000 vertical feet per day)
  • Girls who have little, to no experience with backcountry equipment
  • Girls who are comfortable with changing weather conditions
  • Girls who are excited to be out in the mountains

Additional Information:

  • Number of girls in the camp: 8
  • Coach to Camper Ratio is 1:3
  • Equipment: 8 pairs of Blizzard Skis will be available for Demo. The skis will have Marker Kingpin  bindings.
  • AT boot rentals are supplied through Grizzly Outfitters in Big Sky, MT or your local dealer. Ask us about sizing.
  • Boots are not included in the cost of the camp.
