Keely Kelleher, founder of Keely’s Ski Camps for Girls, is now offering ski camps for women in the heart and soul of the Andes! Keely was a member of the U. S. Ski team racing World Cup downhill and super g for 8 years, has been featured in two Warren Miller films, and has been coaching skiing for 11 years.

During her tenure on the U. S. Ski Team Keely trained at Ski Portillo and fell in love with the terrain and people. She has skied Portillo for five years and is excited about sharing the magic of the Andes with you! Her staff is comprised of all-female Olympic and high level coaches who are passionate about connecting a network of women who share a common passion for skiing.

Dates & Travel Information

Friday August 25 – Saturday September 2, 2017

*If you would like to stay an extra night in Santiago before you depart for the U.S. please let us know and we can recommend some great hotels and activities in Santiago!

American, LANTAM, United, Delta all have flights to Santiago, Chile (SCL).

Group Transport Information To be included in the group transport please plan to arrive early Saturday morning, August 26 (departure from the US on Friday, August 25th)  into the Santiago airport and depart late evening the following Saturday, September 2, 2017.

Travel: Super easy. Depart from the States at about 10:30 pm on Friday and land in Santiago around 8:00 am. Take the Keely’s Camp hotel shuttle to Portillo (about a 2 -3 hours drive). Check in by noon. Take your first runs of the week at 1:00 pm. Reverse the pattern for the Saturday night return flight from Santiago.

Flights arrive into Santiago anywhere from 6 am to 11 am. If you arrive early you will have to wait for our 10:00am shuttle. We leave the airport no later than 10:00am so we can arrive in time for a half day of skiing. Please schedule your itinerary with this in mind if you want to be on our group shuttle. The package: For a fixed price per person, you get 8 days of skiing, 7 nights in the hotel, 4 meals a day (afternoon tea is the extra one). All you pay for on top of that are alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, wine, massages and beauty services, room service,  rental equipment or tune-up services, telephone, laundry or tips.

Ski Portillo Extra Information

PLEASE READ: Ski Portillo FAQ’s 

Nestled in the Andes and just two hours from Santiago, sets the standard for classic ski experiences, with more than 60
years of history and family-owned hospitality. This tradition continues, offering skiers a rare taste of a world long forgotten, rich in culture, conviviality, and awe-inspiring beauty. The all –inclusive resort accommodates a maximum of 450 guests a week, eliminating crowds and lift lines. Complimentary offerings include use of the pool and hot tubs – perched idyllically over Lake Inca as well as daily après ski activities. Portillo is famed for its steeps with easily accessed backcountry terrain. Less-experienced guests will find wide-open beginner and intermediate slopes. Daily Meal Schedule: breakfast is 8 -10am, lunch 12:30 and 1:45 seating, tea is drop in anytime between 5-6 pm and
dinner is two seating’s, 8 and 9:30

8/19– Depart from the United States. Major connections are typically out of Dallas, Atlanta and Miami.

8/20 – Arrive Santiago between 7:30am-11am, clear immigration and customs, group departure for Portillo, typically anywhere from  10:00-11:00am (remember if you miss your flight or do not schedule a flight in our time window transportation is up to you).

Check in time is around 2 pm, we recommend you pack your ski clothes handy because you will put your stuff in storage upon arrival and can change in the spa area to head out and ski after lunch. Arrive at Portillo between 12pm-1pm, have lunch, pick up lift passes, go skiing! As we know you will be tired from a long day of travel our skiing will be dependent on your energy level!

8/21 – 8/22– Meet your Olympic, World Class level coaches and orientation and warm up to Ski Portillo’s terrain. Basic balance drills and skills. Après ski welcome reception!

Explore the mountain! Master, refine, and improve your skiing in every condition i.e. powder, corn, steeps, moguls, terrain management, different turn radius, and the basic fundamentals you need for each situation! Our goal is to have you comfortable skiing anything you choose, which is why we will be focusing on developing your technical skiing skills.

Each day we will have personalized feedback on your skiing through video review & analysis. And of course every day includes a different après ski activity!

8/23  – Continued focus on fundamentals and moving to off piste to test ourselves. Focus on having a great ‘first turn.’ Afternoon drinks at Tio Bobs!

8/24 – Push your limits in harder terrain. We will focus on how to be fluid, creative, tactically smart, and  your personal Screen Shot 2015-12-21 at 4.08.42 PMski style. Video analysis and yoga with Heidi (optional).

On Thursday, there is a fun race open to all guests, and it’s great fun. Afterwards listen to Heidi, legendary ski instructor, play her accordion and give  awards for all ages! (race is optional)

8/25 – Focus on terrain management with your new set of skills. Afternoon tea time!

8/26 – Ski your legs off  with us and celebrate your accomplishments of the week. Take aways and fun!

8/27 – 1/2 day skiing with your coaches. Depart Portillo for Airport after skiing & lunch.  Flights usually depart Santiago airport between 8:30-10:00pm.

8/28 – Arrive back in the U.S. ready for winter’s arrival with your new arsenal of skills!
