What should I pack?
Please click on Keely’s Camp Packing ListKeely’s Ski Racing Day Camp Packing List for our detailed packing list.
How do I tune my skis at camp?
Please bring your own tuning equipment as we will not be able to physically assist with tuning during our day camps. If you have questions about tuning we will be happy to answer them. We also recommend having your skis tuned and ready prior to your session.
I just started ski racing, am I ready for your ski racing camp?
Usually, we require at least a year of ski racing experience to handle Mt. Hood’s terrain. For younger athletes we require that you know how to pack your own ski bag, organize and keep track of your equipment, and carry your own equipment to the lift each day. You can email keely@keelyscamp.com to inquire about your ability and/or send video of your skiing to us!
What’s the difference between Session Orange and Session Purple?
The only difference between Session Purple & Session Orange is the coaching staff. These sessions are operated simultaneously. On mountain training lanes for Session Purple & Orange are adjacent to each other and the schedule for these sessions are the same.
How are ski groups assigned during my session?
We assign groups by age to facilitate social bonding within athletes of the same age. We make necessary changes if there is a wide range of ability within a ski group.
Will there be opportunities to demo skis at camp?
Keely’s Camp is partnered with Blizzard skis and Blizzard generously makes skis available for Keely’s Campers during their sessions on Mt. Hood. There are also opportunities in Govy to demo skis from different companies. Early June to mid July are when all the ski companies’ demo centers are open.
Do you celebrate birthdays at camp?
If your daughter has a birthday during camp please let us know. We will have a special celebration for her!
What afternoon activities do you do at camp?
Our Day Camp afternoon activities include: Zoom yoga, zoom stretching, zoom core and agility workouts, zoom inspirational talks with coaches.
Will there be any video analysis?
Following each ski day video from training is provided for each girl with their coach. We take one video per girl each day and upload campers’ video to Google Drive. At the end of each session video from Google Drive will be shared with parents.
Note: we do not take video footage on the first day of camp which is the drill day.
Does Keely’s Camp send my daughter home with an evaluation of her skiing?
Keely’s Camp does not provide end of camp written evaluations; however, we require that your daughter comes to camp with a ski journal. Coaches can help her write down important improvements and skills learned during her individualized video sessions. Your daughter will come home with a journal full of feedback and skills learned for her upcoming season!
Ski. Climb. Kayak. Move Mountains.
