Montana Backcountry Ski Camp
Travel, Logistics, and Lodging
If you are flying then fly into Bozeman International Airport (BZN) on Thursday and stay in Bozeman, Livingston or Gardiner, MT. Drive to Cooke City, MT the next morning to arrive by 8:30am.
Note: you will be driving into beautiful Yellowstone National Park to get to Cooke City. Be ready for animals and winter driving conditions.
Location – The Woody Creek Cabin is located approximately 2.5 miles from downtown Cooke City, Montana and sits at 8,700′. Guides will meet everyone in Cooke City, Montana to tour into the Cabin for the camp. Cooke City is located 3 hours from Bozeman, Montana, next to the Northeast entrance of Yellowstone Park.
Situated between Yellowstone Park’s NE entrance, the Gallatin/Custer and Shoshone National Forests, this is one of the most unique outdoor experiences in the U.S.

Gear List
What type of backcountry ski boots do you recommend?
We recommend trying the boots on and/or spending time walking around in these boots prior to coming to camp. Boots are an important part of equipment and we want to do our best to make sure your boots are comfortable prior to this camp.
What is the guide to client ratio?
Guide to Client Ratio is 1:4. We have 10 spots available.
What if I don’t have a backcountry setup?
Keely’s Camp is partnered with Blizzard Skis sizes 164cm, which are available for demo at no cost (skins included). If you like the backcountry set up they will be available for sale after the course. Please let us know if you would like to demo Blizzard skis ahead prior to the start of the course.
Backcountry ski boots are not included in our demo setups. Please rent or buy backcountry boots with tech soles if you plan to use our demo setup. These boots should be compatible with Marker King Pin bindings.
Where can I rent backcountry gear?
Uphill Pursuits is a great option for renting backcountry gear and ski boots in Bozeman, MT which is close to the location of the camp.
Keely’s Camp is comprised of an all-star female staff of Olympians, World Cup Skiers, and Guides who coach, mentor, and empower girls in skiing and outdoor sports. Keely’s Camp Coaches are proud to give girls what they didn’t have growing up – FEMALE COACHES!
