Our mission is to empower, inspire, educate, and connect the next generation of girls in skiing and outdoor sports.

About Us

Growing up Director & Founder of Keely’s Camp, Keely Kelleher didn’t experience a female coach until she was 19 years old. After she retired from her World Cup Ski Racing career she wanted to change that.

Keely’s Camp was founded in 2011 as the first ski racing camp for girls in North America. In addition to ski racing camps we now provide backcountry skiing, ski mountaineering, and big mountain ski camps for girls.  We’ve been running camps for over a decade and have coached & inspired thousands of girls and supported female coaches entering a male dominated industry. We believe every girl deserves a female coach and that girls need opportunities and access to outdoor sports to live healthy, active, productive lives.

Our mission is to empower, inspire, educate, and connect the next generation of girls in skiing by giving girls what Keely and many women in sport didn’t have growing up, FEMALE COACHES!

“Growing up attending Keely’s camp I was lucky to never have the notion that women do not belong or cannot be good ski racers or in the backcountry ripping down mountains. Seeing female leaders at Keely’s Camp, I always assumed that is how it was supposed to be.”

Why Outdoor Leadership, Adventure, and Education are important for girls…

  • Enhanced self-esteem & confidence
  • Improved body image
  • Self-trust
  • Self-worth
  • Asseertiveness
  • Self-sufficiency
  • Independence
  • Problem solving & resourcefulness
  • Stress relief
  • Connection to nature
  • Greater sense of Community

“Those who pursue outdoor recreation demonstrate higher levels of self-esteem, self-trust, self-worth, assertiveness, self-sufficiency, independence, confidence, empowerment, and body image as well as a greater sense of community and stress relief through interaction with the natural environment [3,10,11,12]. The benefits outdoor recreation participation can offer to females paints a clear picture of the importance of not only exposing girls to the outdoors but in helping them build the skills to experience sustained participation in outdoor recreation.”
