This is a great course for mothers and their daughters who are excited to learn about traveling in the backcountry together!
This course aims to educate on decision making in avalanche terrain.
This 3 day course includes:
- Decision Making in Avalanche Terrain led by female guides with over 20 years of avalanche education experience.
- You will learn about trip planning and interpreting the avalanche forcast, snowpack and weather observations.
- How to travel in avalanche terrain and companion rescue.
- This course follows the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE) curriculum.
In order to get the most of your field time with your instructors this course does require 5 -7 hours of online pre course learning for both mothers and their daughters.
Keely’s Camp recommends that mothers and daughters taking this course are comfortable skiing non groomed, in-bounds, black runs. Conditions in the backcountry can be variable. If you have any questions on if you and your daughter are a good fit for this course please contact Lindsay, lindsay@keelyscamp.com.
For this program Keely’s Camp partners with Sawtooth Mountain Guides!
