Introduction to backcountry skiing and avalanche awareness education in the beautiful Sawtooth Mountain Range. The camp will include an all-female professional guide team, outdoor leadership, and education on backcountry fundamentals including:
Campers will have the option to use Keely’s Camp backcountry setup. Our setup includes Blizzard Zero G skis (length 157-164cm) with Marker King pin bindings and skis. Campers will need to bring their own backcountry ski boots.
Campers using Keely’s Camp backcountry setups please come to camp with ski boots compatible with Marker King Pin bindings. Any questions on equipment can be emailed to lindsay@keelyscamp.com.

2022 Idaho Backcountry Camp Schedule
Travel, Logistics, and Lodging
If flying to this camp the closest airports are Sun Valley (Hailey, Idaho), Twin Falls (Twin Falls, Idaho) or Boise (Boise, Idaho). During the camp we recommend lodging in the stunningly beautiful town of Stanley, ID.
Hailey is about a 1.5-2 hour drive over beautiful Galena Mountain pass to Stanley Idaho.
Packing List
Please follow the checklist to the best of your ability. Traveling in the backcountry means efficient use of space and energy. For example, a heavy bag is harder to hike with making you fatigue faster. Please try to only bring the items suggested. The guides will be doing a gear check before leaving for the mountains each day. Thank you!
Avalanche Transceiver, shovel and probe can be provided if you do not have this gear. Please contact lindsay@keelyscamp.com if you need to borrow this gear.
*Helmets are required for this camp!
What type of backcountry ski boots do you recommend?
We recommend trying the boots on and/or spending time walking around in these boots prior to coming to camp. Boots are an important part of equipment and we want to do our best to make sure the boots are comfortable for the girls during camp.
What is the guide to camper ratio?
Guide to Camper Ratio is 1:4. We have 8 camper spots available.
What if I don’t have a backcountry setup?
Keely’s Camp is partnered with Blizzard Skis sizes 157cm – 164cm, which are available for demo at no cost (skins included). If your daughter likes the backcountry set up they will be available for sale at the end of the camp. Please let us know if you would like to demo Blizzard skis ahead prior to the start of camp.
Backcountry ski boots are not included in our demo setups. Please rent or buy backcountry boots with tech soles if you plan to use our demo setup. These boots should be compatible with Marker King Pin bindings.
Do you celebrate birthdays at camp?
Let us know if your daughter has a birthday during the camp and we will pack something special for her!
Can I bring my phone to camp?
Keely’s Camp follows a ‘no phone camp policy.’ Your backcountry guides will have phones for safety & full communication to parents. We do our very best to document each camp through photos and videos. Thank you for following our no phone policy.
There is no wifi in the mountains, but you’ll find a better connection.
What fun activities can parents do while girls are in camp?
What is your Covid 19 Policy?
Keely’s Camp requires staff and athletes participating in Keely’s overnight camps to be vaccinated unless granted an exemption**. Federal public health and infectious disease experts continue to emphasize that vaccination is the most effective way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 for those eligible.
If your daughter is not eligible to be vaccinated prior to camp, Keely’s camp offers many day camp opportunities!
