Girl on Fire update: Liz is back and she’s ON FIRE!

After missing spring, summer and fall due to a knee injury and surgery, Liz started the season 50–60 days behind her peers. However, that didn’t slow her down for long. This season, Liz has joined the Apex2100 team in France.  Racing with Apex in Europe has been an incredible boost for her: deeper fields, many talented racers, and a huge variety of venues. Liz has attacked every challenge with her trademark enthusiasm and grit, building momentum week after week and loving the process.

Season highlights

  • Savoie: 5th in SL (3rd among first-year U16) and 6th in GS.
  • Val Thorens: an electric first run in GS—just 0.2 seconds off the pace—followed by a tough second run that landed her 6th.
  • Méribel: 8th in Super-G despite a big mistake on the jump. She described it as a blast—and the ear to ear smile at the bottom said it all.

Her team just wrapped a mid-season camp in Pozza, Dolomites, with amazing conditions, followed by training with amazing athletes,  Laura Colturi and Sarah Hector.  She’s thrilled with the growth, camaraderie, and opportunity she’s found with APEX and plans to return next year.

We couldn’t be prouder of Liz’s comeback and the fearless joy she brings to every start. Stay tuned—this Girl on Fire is only heating up.
