Meet Grace Claire Kondrakiewicz: The 12th Girl on Fire!

17 year old Grace’s tenacity for skiing was nothing short of abundant in her creative application to our 2024/5 Girl on Fire Sponsorship Contest this year! Grace is from Slinger, Wisconsin and thrives when skiing both on snow and on the water ski team that practices at the river near her house.

Really, Grace loves being outdoors! She shared with us that her “favorite part of being outdoors is how it makes you feel. I love how it feels to be in nature and listen to the sounds of birds chirping in the trees, or waves crashing on the shore. I love how it feels to have wind whipping through my hair when I am trying hard to hold onto a tube that is about to flip over. I love it when the cold water of a lake shocks my body as I jump in, or the way it cools me off on a hot summer day. But I love the quiet times in the outdoors too. I love the moments of peace right before the sun sets, or the calmness of a lake in the early hours of the morning. I love to appreciate all that is around me and take in how beautiful this earth truly is.”

In Grace’s application video she told us that “a girl on fire shows others that it is ok to think outside the box and set your own standards. She shows up to practice or school ready to conquer challenges and work to learn from her mistakes.” Watch Grace’s winning video HERE.
